Two Weeks And Counting!

As we get closer to August 8, the days seem to get longer for me but it could just be that I’m getting exited. Just last week we made the final payment for all the cabins, pavilion & catering so we’re ready on that front.

Here is more of the latest information that you may have missed.

Rally Point

The rally point has been set to be the pavilion located right in the middle of our cabins. While our cabins won’t be ready for check-in until later in the day, we will meet at noon on August 8, 2024 at the pavilion. Directions can be found on this year’s reunion page, your single source for all things reunion.

Assignments

Every year, Rob assigns certain items for everyone to bring to contribute to the greater good. Below are two lists. The first is what everyone should bring and the second is a specific list for anyone driving. Those that are flying aren’t typically assigned anything to bring.

Everyone should bring:

  • Snacks to share with everyone.
  • Your own drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
  • Camping chairs. The pavilion has a lot of picnic tables but the fire pit has nowhere to sit. We will have the pavilion all weekend.
  • Firewood (if you have room to haul it.)
  • Cornhole board (if you’d like.)

After we arrive, we will take inventory and assess what we are lacking for the weekend. Then a select few of us will head to store to pick up missing items like:

  • Eggs
  • Bacon
  • Cheese
  • Lettuce
  • Tomatoes
  • Milk
  • Biscuits
  • Flower for gravy
  • Burgers
  • Brats
  • Dogs
  • Ground beef

If you’d like to volunteer to bring these missing items, please let me know ASAP. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Cornhole teams

Prepare to toss your sack! Think about your partner/team and let me know if you have your partner. If you can get this to me before the reunion it would help so I will have fewer administrative things to do at the reunion. It also might help everyone else find a partner.

Fundraiser shirts & payments

Even though the 2024 Fundraiser Shirt Campaign lasted only 1 week, you all came out swinging as always. We were able to raise $936.98! Nice work gents!

On the other side of that coin, there are still 15 unpaid invoices totaling almost $1,000 for fundraiser shirts meaning half of you haven’t paid! I know when you ordered your shirt, the only option was to “pay later” and well… it’s later.

Please pay before the reunion! I’m coming to the reunion to enjoy our brief time together, not to do administrative work.

Cabin assignments

Rob worked on putting this together (while accepting bribes) and If you haven’t checked it out, here it is.

Cabin 430 has been designated as the main kitchen, pantry and store room.

Church

Travis Turner will be an honorary guest preacher at Brent & Melissa Walker’s church on Sunday. Everyone is welcome to attend and there is no need to sign up. It’s a short 30 minute drive so come listen to TT deliver a motivating message!

Conclusion

If you’re looking for information related to the reunion (driving directions, assignments, attendees, cabin assignments, etc.), sometimes it’s hard to have to scroll through all the messages in Messenger to find it.

My solution is to put any and all that info on a single page to act as a one stop shop for all the info. Just click on 2024 Reunion in the menu which will have all the information you need or bookmark this year’s reunion page.

Questions or comments go below and I look forward to seeing everyone in 2 weeks!
