Looking over the shoulder of a Marine scribbling with crayons

Fundraiser Artwork

This page highlights the fundraiser shirt designs on a single page and a short story about each year.

Fundraiser Proceeds by Year

2018 – Hocking Hills, OH

Shelly and LB began the fundraiser shirts beginning in 2018 after the reunion with a single design using Custom Ink’s fundraiser program because Curtis failed to deliver “the shirts he made”. Hint: he didn’t make any but said he did. He even said it was delivered to the Keller’s doorstep.

Custom Ink’s fundraiser program allows orders to be taken on their website. We upload the artwork, select the merchandise, set the prices, and the length of the fundraiser. They will then take the payments, print the shirts, package them, and ship to your doorstep. Afterwards, they would send us a check for the money we raised.

2019 – Pigeon Forge, TN: $560 Raised

I picked up where the Kellers left off with Custom Ink, participating in their fundraiser shirt sale program. Apparently the design I created was too similar to Jack Daniels and was “copyrighted” so Custom Ink reworked our design which looks nothing like the original.

2020 – Nixa, MO: $670 Raised

The second year I used Custom Ink for fundraiser shirts, it too was also a mess. Since the EGA is copyrighted by the Marine Corps, the shirts needed to be reworked. This time, I did the rework using elements of Second Battalion 4th Marines’ unit insignia. Looks more like a police theme than a Marine theme but we insiders know what it is.

2021 – Gettysburg, PA: $770 Raised

For the third (and final) year using Custom Stink, I made sure to create 3 designs that did not have anything with a copyright (EGA, the words Oorah or Marines, etc.) but despite me trying to adapt to their particular idiocracies, they failed in delivering the shirts in a timely manner. Read about that here.

This was the first year I made more than 1 design for everyone to vote on. Winning design goes on a shirt, the runner-up goes on a giveaway kuzie. One of the unique things about this year was you got to pick either Union Blue or Confederate Gray shirts with the idea being that you can pick to represent either the North or the South.

2022 – Virginia Beach, VA: $1,500 Raised

Sick of Custom Stink’s BS, I found and used a local Cleveland company called 911 Clothing and I haven’t looked back since. This year also began sales for the shirts on this website which adds a lot of extra work for me but the money we raised increased significantly.

Winner

Virginia Beach? Shoreline, lighthouse, a ship, skull, and pirate themed lettering.

Runner-up

Since this was the 8th reunion, the second design featured an octopus since they have 8 arms.

2023 – Clayton, ID: $1,200 Raised

One design was obvious to me since it was an anniversary and the other wasn’t too hard to come up with either.

Winner

Our 30th anniversary for our deployment to Japan inspired this design. My favorite.

Runner-up

Idaho being known for their potatoes was the idea here as well as the drinking.

2024 – Lake Guntersville, AL: $937 Raised

Our 10th reunion and the 30th anniversary of our participation in Operation Sea Signal. Three designs came rather easily.

This was the first major SNAFU with our vendor but 911 Clothing bent over backwards to make things right. She paid for the shirts and I paid for the shipping. Check out “Sapper in the wire”. In my eyes, she made it right which is why I keep going back to them.

Winner

Since this was our 10th, I felt it necessary to showcase our Reunion Tour of Duty.

Runner-up

How many hours did we spend in those guard towers watching the shit show below.

Loser

This was the first time I paid someone for a partial design and I finished it. What a loser.

2025 – Mount Vernon, TX: $1,539 Raised

An uneventful year for shirts. These 2 designs came easily enough.

Winner

“Steers and queers” -R. Lee Ermy

Runner-up

Things to me that scream TEXAS and the wild west.

2026 – Fennville, MI: $1,185 Raised

I was only going to create a single design this year due to my workload but an opportunity for knee surgery and 2 months off work to recover help me create these. These two took me a while but they eventually got done.

Winner

In celebration of America’s 250th featuring a subdued version of America’s 250 graphics.

Runner-up

The stars aligned with this one. From the move Dirty’s Dozen and Dirty hosting our 12th.
